[5 steps] TP-Link TL-WA850RE: How to set up your existing Wi-Fi to your mobile hotspot in minutes

If you need to set up a Wi-Fi extension that is only 2.4G as a mobile hotspot, prepare the following:

1. Reset the TL-WA850RE by simply pressing the button on the left side. (The left side of the Ethernet port is plugged in.)

2. Connect Wi-Fi to set up TL-WA850RE

3. Open Chrome > go to 192.168.0.254 > set default password to "admin1234" > press Login in > select 2.4G Wi-Fi

4. Let's look at the phone: Open the Hotspot settings to see the Wi-Fi name and password to copy the existing Wi-Fi to the extender.

5. Go back to TL-WA850RE extender > Wi-Fi scan to select Mobile Hotspot > enter Wi-Fi password > choose to set Wi-Fi name on extender. Suggest: Use the same Wi-Fi name throughout > Save changes.

Now you can use the same Wi-Fi extender while roaming as a mobile hotspot.
