How to connect UltraSurf VPN to your router using a wired shared HTTP proxy from your Samsung phone. This is possible if you can bypass the HTTP proxy to connect the VPN (UltraSurf) to your PC.

(This article demonstrates how to use a VPN without configuring or accessing settings.) In this case, to connect to a VPN (UltraSurf) that is not supported by platforms like Linux and others, you will need Wine to run Windows programs that run on your Linux system.

This article only covers VPN sharing via HTTP Proxy and requires configuration. If you prefer a VPN that doesn't require configuration, try reading "How to Share OpenVPN from TP-Link Router to Server and Enable IPTables Forwarding" to enable multi-device VPN sharing without configuring an HTTP Proxy or redirecting. Check your IP address to see if it has changed.

However, you will be able to connect UltraSurf (HTTP Proxy) to your Samsung phone. Check that ufw is enabled in the "Allow External Port Access" section.

UltraSurf requires changing port 3128 to the Squid Proxy port. You can change the port at any time in the program; select "Option" > Listen Port.

Things to prepare before using UltraSurf VPN without paying for a VPN or cutting out your VPN for no reason. 100% secure, encrypted VPN helps reduce DDoS attacks while using UltraSurf (Assume: Yes).

1.  Prepare your PC or laptop and run UltraSurf with Wine (if it's not already installed). Refer to the website for installation instructions; the version must match your operating system.

Make sure you have a static IP address before using UltraSurf HTTP Proxy.

2. Open Firefox on Ubuntu > Go to the UltraSurf website > Download the .EXE file (Windows program).

3. After downloading the .EXE file, close Firefox and go to: File > select "download" > right-click "usf.exe" and select "Open with" > select "Wine" to run the Windows program on Linux.

Optional: For users who want to automatically run UltraSurf on Linux after a reboot to always provide a secure VPN and protect their data.

Create a Cronjob (@reboot) in Wine, next to: the address of the .EXE file that must open automatically after a reboot and persistently save.

If UltraSurf is open, to prevent it from opening Firefox: uninstall Firefox on Linux before using UltraSurf to keep background processes running while the screen is off.

4. After UltraSurf in Windows is opened on Linux, connect to your HTTP proxy and change the setting to 0.0.0.0 next to the private IP address.

Note: You should verify that ufw has allowed the port to access the HTTP Proxy.

5. Prepare your Samsung phone: Go to Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi > Options and change HTTP Proxy to connect to your UltraSurf.

6. Done: Plug the Ethernet adapter into your Samsung phone > Turn on Ethernet internet sharing settings.

7. Prepare your Wi-Fi router to connect an Ethernet cable to your Samsung phone. HTTP Proxy will transmit data correctly. Using a VPN is also considered the best way to securely share your internet connection.

Optional: If using Pi-Hole Ad Blocker, it works correctly and securely with UltraSurf VPN traffic.

Give it a try; if it doesn't work, then you don't need to use it.
